LOS ANGELES, CA – 10 Mar, 2017 – Maria Mehranian was appointed to the Board of Trustees at Woodbury University. Maria Mehranian is Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer of Cordoba Corporation, a California based full-service engineering, construction management and program management firm specialized in transportation, water, energy, education and facilities.

The Woodbury University Board of Trustees functions as the institution’s primary governing body, overseeing policy, academics and appointments. Each new member serves for a minimum term of three years. Maria previously served on the board of Woodbury University’s business school for five years.

For over 30 years Maria has dedicated her career to building Cordoba Corp into one of the Nation’s top specialty services firms. For her efforts, Maria caught the attention of academic institutions and was featured in a case study by Harvard Business School and Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University. Maria holds a Masters of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of California, Los Angeles. Formerly chairing the Los Angeles Water Quality Control Board, appointed to two consecutive terms by Governor Brown, Maria led the Board in adopting the region’s landmark storm water permit which will help foster sustainable development in the region.
She participates in numerous water policy panels on water quality and supply issues and serves as a guest lecturer for universities throughout the state. Recognized by legislators of the 43rd and 44th Assembly and 21st Senate Districts of California, Maria received Corporate Woman of the Year Award. Mujeres De La Tierra declared her an environmental champion and recipient of the 2016 Healer of La Madre Tierra award. Maria received the Ellis Island Medal of Honor for exemplifying outstanding qualities in both her personal and professional life while continuing to preserve the richness of her Armenian heritage.
She is a member of the Dean’s Leadership Board at Cal Poly Pomona College of Engineering and is the international Chairperson of Armenia Fund, Inc. which has raised more than $120M for humanitarian and infrastructure development in Armenia over the past ten years.
