CHICAGO, IL – 9 Mar, 2017 –
LIVE! From The Pullman National Monument, is the title for the city’s new, talk radio show that focuses specifically on tourism, with the historically rich community of Pullman, Chicago’s first National Park Service site as the center piece. The one hour show airs Sundays at 4:00 p.m. CST on www.bbsradio.com/livefrompnm. This global-cast internet, talk radio show, which began in 2016, is presented in a magazine format, has found an audience on both the national and international level reaching 120 countries.
On February 26, 2017, LIVE! From The Pullman National Monument will expand to include live, on-air features with tourism professionals. It is indeed appropriate to begin the series with David Whitaker, President of Choose Chicago, and Jason Lesniewicz, their neighborhood tourism manager, who will be the first to help launch the new Live From PNM initiative. Representatives from Choose will be frequent guest on the show. The series of shows will be moderated by Dr. Lyn Hughes, the show’s host and creator, with discussions focusing on the multibillion dollar tourism industry.
Dr. Hughes explains, “this new show, focuses on the broader umbrella of tourism, but also includes a view from a unique perspective; and looks at how the economics of tourism can and does impact the neighborhood economy.”
The show allows the listener to hear the examination of a unique perspective, that of Cultural Economic Development, i.e. Tourism, and the relatively untapped African American Tourist market within the global tourism arena. And of course the show will inform listeners of the multiple tourism attractions that Illinois has to offer, as well as those found both in downtown Chicago and the many undiscovered neighborhood tourism jewels.
The show airs on www.bbsradio.com/livefrompnm Sundays at 4:00 p.m. CST
