Live4Five.org Non-Drinking Challenge Donates 100% of Revenue to Childhood Illness and Clean Oceans

January 02 11:28 2020

Oceanside, CA – Jan 2, 2020 – Live4Five Non Profit Corporation (www.Live4five.org) a hip social and charitable movement focused on helping members achieve optimal health through periodic breaks from alcohol announced today that they have donated 100% of revenue to support important charitable causes in childhood illness and environmental issues.

Exactly 50% of all revenue received this year went to St. Jude Hospital to help end childhood cancer and exactly 50% went to Surfrider Foundation to ensure clean oceans and beaches. This is unheard of in nonprofit’s where such large portions of donations get tied up in operating and executive salary costs. This means 100% of all Live4Five.org revenue received through donations, dry season challenges, and T-Shirt sales went to charity. All company operating expenditures were absorbed by the company’s founder.

The Live4Five.org movement started several years ago as a nondrinking bet between friends but quickly escalated into a movement. It has grown steadily into a supportive community focused on non-drinking challenges and social events. It is difficult to classify the Live4Five.org experience as it touches so many categories. The primary focus is helping members achieve optimal health through quarterly breaks from alcohol, the “Dry Season.” Then, it’s a social community focused on fun events in the “Open Season.” Most notably, the important byproduct of it all is a charitable aggregator focused on helping childhood illness and environmental issues.

Kelly Powell, Founder Live4Five.org: “There is a growing population of social drinkers who know the negative effects of alcohol on their body and want to address it.” He added: “Alcohol takes a significant toll on every major organ including: Liver, heart, brain, and pancreas. There are countless benefits of not drinking alcohol and zero proven benefits from drinking alcohol.”

A recent study found participants who quit drinking for a five-week period saw a reduced risk of liver damage, improved glucose balance, and weight loss, according to Medical Daily. A month without alcohol has shown to lower cancer-promoting proteins in your blood. In addition, your skin elasticity improves, and proven mental and emotional benefits as drinking alcohol can lead to bad decisions. Kelly Powell: “There’s a lot of peer pressure in social situations to drink alcohol and not drinking with coworkers or friends can be taken the wrong way. A Live4Five dry season challenge gives you a pass and makes it OK for you to take a break from alcohol. You can point to your financial participation to show your determination to see it through and your benevolence in supporting our charities. Your drinking friends will quickly get behind you and those participating with you will provide that all important camaraderie that many people need.”
